Asthma is a chronic condition affecting the airways, causing breathing difficulties that can significantly affect daily life. Cases have risen in recent years, attributed to both environmental change and hereditary influence.

Environmental triggers play a major role in the onset and worsening of asthma. Air pollution, allergens and airborne chemicals all aggravate the condition; traffic pollution and rising ozone levels contribute to both its development and its exacerbation. Children born to mothers who smoked during pregnancy are more likely to develop asthma.

Forms of asthma

  • Allergic asthma: caused by allergic reactions to substances such as mould, pollen and pet dander.
  • Non-allergic asthma: triggered by external factors such as stress, exercise, illness or a change in the weather.
  • Adult-onset asthma: occurring after the age of 18.
  • Paediatric asthma: childhood asthma, typically developing before the age of five. Some children outgrow it.

How it is diagnosed

A healthcare provider will assess your medical history, including family history, and ask about your symptoms and about any history of allergies, eczema or other lung disease. Spirometry, which measures airflow through the lungs, is the usual test; a chest X-ray, blood tests and skin tests may also be ordered.

How homeopathy helps

With an individualized approach based on each patient’s unique symptoms, triggers, frequency, intensity, and modalities, homeopathy offers a holistic and effective treatment. When prescribed by an expert, the appropriate homeopathic medicine not only relieves acute symptoms but also helps prevent relapses and complications. This leads to long-term control and, in many cases, a complete cure, enabling patients to lead a symptom-free life.

Homeopathic treatment is known for being safe, gentle, and free from side effects. It addresses the root cause of illnesses and has shown promising results even in conditions often considered incurable or difficult to manage by conventional medicine.
