Atopic dermatitis, commonly known as eczema, is a chronic skin condition marked by dry, itchy and inflamed skin. It commonly affects children but can occur at any age, and it comes and goes throughout life. It is irritating, but it is not contagious: it does not spread from person to person.

On light skin the rash is usually red. On darker skin it may appear brown, purple or grey. It most often affects the insides of the knees and elbows and other skin folds, and it leaves the skin vulnerable to bacterial infection.

How common it is

Atopic dermatitis affects around 20% of children and up to 10% of adults, about one child in ten. It ranks fifteenth among non-fatal diseases and first among all skin diseases globally. Around two-thirds of children with atopic dermatitis continue to experience flare-ups into adulthood. The exact causes are not well understood.

When prescribed by an expert, the appropriate homeopathic medicine not only relieves acute symptoms but also helps prevent relapses and complications. This leads to long-term control and, in many cases, a complete cure, enabling patients to lead a symptom-free life.

Homeopathic treatment is known for being safe, gentle, and free from side effects. It addresses the root cause of illnesses and has shown promising results even in conditions often considered incurable or difficult to manage by conventional medicine.
